Elitmus pH Test Pattern & Syllabus

I won't spend time on writing an intro to 'how' and 'what' abouts of, you can find those in the official elitmus website. What i will share her is the things which are not present in that website (Of course the test pattern is present in the elitmus website as well, but you will need it for this post to be more useful).

The Test duration is 3 hours. There is no time restriction for each sections, you can start with any of the 3 sections mentioned below, and switch to any other section any time you want to within the 2hr duration.

The test comprises of 3 sections:

1. Quant Section:

Number of Questions: 20

Difficulty: Moderate

Important Topics:
  1. Probability
  2. Permutation & Combination
  3. Number System
  4. Time, Speed, Distance
  5. Time & Work
  6. Geometry
You will get around 15-16 questions from the above topics. If you manage to solve 9-10 correctly from those 16, you will easily score a percentile of 85+ at the least, which by the way is sufficient for you to get calls from 95% of the companies.

 2. DI and Logical Reasoning:

Number of Questions: 20

Difficulty: Tough

Important Topics:
  1. DI- tabular data with conditions
  2. Arrangement
  3. Coding/Decoding based on multiplication (Go here to find out what these are and how to solve them)
  4. Data Sufficiency questions

If you manage to solve 6-9 correctly, you will easily score a percentile of 85+ at the least, which again is sufficient for you to get calls from 95% of the companies.

 3. Verbal:

Number of Questions: 20

Difficulty: Easy

Important Topics:
  1. 3 RC- 4 question in each
  2. Paragraph formation(parajumbles)
  3. Fill in the blank ( appropriate word)
  4. Grammar
If you are good at English, you will complete this section within half an hour. It doesn't mean that you will know everything or you should answer every question. It is enough if you get around 12- 15 correct in this section.

    1. Hello Ravi,
The thing is you need to get good sectional percentile to get calls from most of the companies.. 80+ percentile in all the individual sections will fetch you more calls than 90+ overall.. So my suggestion is give all sections sufficient time and solve 6-8 correct in quant, 6-8 correct in reasoning.. 12-13 correct in verbal...you'll score 90+overall and 80+ sectional in all the three...
and yea it is AND and not OR

  3. As sectional scores affect the Overall Score but
Does the sectional score affect the Overall Percentile ?
    ------------------------------------------
    Example:

    Scenario 1st
    ____________

    3 questions in section A
    (AND)
    3 questions in section B
    (AND)
    3 questions in section C

Overall 9 question and x percentile.
    ------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------

    Scenario 2nd
    ____________

    0 questions in section A
    (AND)
    0 questions in section B
    (AND)
    9 questions in section C

Overall 9 question and y percentile.
    ------------------------------------------

Will x==y? Or will it differ?

    1. Sectional scores does not affect the overall percentile..
If you attempt all Verbal questions and get them right, your overall percentile will be greater than 90. However that is of no use. Companies look for good sectional percentiles.. A overall 90+ with bad sectional percentile is of less significant than, 85 percentile overall with 75+ sectional percentile average...
      As per your question, X==Y

Please provide the suitable answers for the above asked question also asap as I have scheduled my exam on day after tomorrow.

    1. As I said X==Y. It doesn't differ..
And arrangements are, well this question might give you an idea of what they are,
"A, P, R, X, S and Z are sitting in a row. S and Z are in the centre. A and P are at the ends. R is sitting to the left of A. Who is to the right of P ?"

  5. Thank you bro for your timely response.

Can you just provide a overview on Tabular DI?
    Is it similar to :

    http://www.mbarendezvous.com/Datainterpretation.php

    http://placement.freshersworld.com/power-preparation/tabular-data-351

    http://www.indiabix.com/data-interpretation/table-charts/

Is it sufficient to answer Tabular DI?

    1. Glad to help you,
DI's will be complex than the ones in the links, however they are manageable. I personally felt DI as the easiest in the Reasoning section..
      Good Luck!
And yes, if you could contribute to this site after you write the test, by letting the visitors know the questions asked in the test, will be great.

You can comment the questions you remember, we will make a post of that along with the solution...

      All the best again!

    1. Well the ones in eLitmus are much more challenging than the ones given there, If I were to suggest you anything, i would say attempt the arrangement question at the end when you have nothing left..Data sufficiency and DI wud give you good amount of marks if you get them right, and believe me if you get 6 correct from the 7-8 questions from DI and DS combined, your percentile of reasoning section will be 85+ for sure!
      Cheers!!

P.S. That was my suggestion, but it's upto you to decide!

  8. what is the solution of this
    1. how many no can be formed using digits 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 such that they are in increasing order(e.g. 12345, 578)?

    2. given x=123456 and z=x-y ten for how many values of y, z value found is divided by 48, 98, 105

  9. The second question is solved here http://gluedbrain.blogspot.in/2013/08/elitmus-questions-with-solutions.html
The answer to the first question would be 511. If you want a solution of how 511, we would be adding a post once we gather 5 new questions.
